                          BLOOD COMPOSITION


  • Our blood is made up of liquid and solids, The liquid substance called Plasma.
  • These plasma is made up of water salts and proteins.
  • Over half of the blood which is around 55% of made is made of plasma.
  • The solid part of your blood contains RBC'S (Red blood corpuscles) are also known as Erythrocytes
  • WBC'S (White blood corpuscles) are also known as Leucocytes. and other solid thing in blood is Platelets are also called Thrombocytes.
  • Over 45% of blood is formed of Blood cells.
  • The main function of RBC is to carry the oxygen through all parts of the body such as tissues and organs.
  • The main function of WBC is fight with infection and are part of your immune system.

  • The main function of Platelets is help blood to clot, When we have a cut or wound.

  • Bone marrow is a sponge substance present inside the bones, which makes new blood cells as stem cells.

  • The RBC will constantly die and our body makes the new blood cells as we seen before from bone marrow.
  • The life time of RBC cells are around 120 days and the life time of Platelets are about 6 days.
  • Some WBC'S lives less than a day, some WBC'S can live longer...
